GIFT TO UNIVERSITY

£5,000 FOR RESEARCH IN SYDNEY GENEROSITY OF AUCKLANDER A new fellowship in the faculty of medicine for research in spastic paralysis and allied subjects is to be created at Sydney University. This is the immediate outcome of a gift of £ 5,000 from Mr. A. L. Wilson, an Aucklander whose cheque reached the university registrar today and was acknowledged. It is understood that Mr. Wilson became interested and impressed by the work which has been done by Dr. Norman Royle in connection with spastic paralysis in the last 10 years. Now it is possible that the faculty of medicine will recommend as a fellow a young medical practitioner who will devote a proportion of his time to research in this department.
