A CONTINUED SUCCESS The amusing- efforts of an Italia: to use the idi oms and expressions c the English language kept last em ing s large audience at His Majesty; Theatre in a state of continuous laugh ter. Leo Carrillo as Lombardi, c‘ that entertaining production, “Lorbardi, Ltd.,” has mastered the speec and actions of the Italian Kev Yorker to perfection. The story tells of his affection fc* a chorus girl who is merely fooiir: him for what she can get. A design of dresses and an ardent devotee o: his calling, Lombardi designs for this girl numbers of wonderful creatioE which are delivered to her, but for which the firm's accountant can flue no trace of bills having been rendered. Through the intervention of an exemployee of his, Lombardi learns of his inamorata’s infidelity and L* broken-hearted. To add to to troubles, his persevering accountac. after incessant efforts to make to employer realise that the firm is o: the brink of financial ruin, final} manages to bring the careless Lobbardi up with a start when he ir nounces that unless a loan can fc raised in a very few hours, the affairs will have to go into the hand? of a receiver. However, when all seems hopeless a friend comes to light with tkrequisite aid, and Lombardi finish with finding himself in love with to fitter, a capable and charming |r whose presence was always soothis; to him in the worst of his troubles. The whole play is enacted in a siting of rich and singular beauty, fi* surroundings of a dress designerestablishment being faithfully P®* trayed. Next to Mr. Carrillo’s work, the amusing ways of a droll little Anw> can actress, Barbara Luddy, anditt« mannequin parade of Auckland P* are outstanding. “Lombardi, Ltd.,” will be seen a S& tonight.
