WHEAT PRICES BREAK
NEW LOW RECORD AT CHICAGO REFLECTION IN ARGENTINE CHICAGO, Monday. Wheat prices broke sharply at noon but recovered partly just before the close. Short covering- was the main j.actor in stopping- selling. For March wheat a new low record for the season was established. Other futures were within a fraction of their recent low points. Closing quotations were:—March 1 dollar 13 1-8 cents a bushel; May’ 1 dollar 17J cents; July, 1 dollar IS 7-8 cents; September, 1 dollar 20 5-8 cents. A message from Buenos Ayres says wheat prices declined sharply in Argentina today. The Buenos Ayres market showed losses of 41 to 4 5-8 cents. The sentiment on the American market this evening was as “bearish” as possible. Interest centred around 215,000 000 bushels of May wheat in the leading markets. The visible supply has decreased by 632,000 bushels to a total of 159,052,000 bushels. « Unfavourable crop reports from the South-Western States failed to attract attention. +iA C A° rdin s to Private cable advices the Argentina estimate lias been out 15,000,000 bushels to 175,000,000
