Wheat is now coming on to the market fairly freely, and although some lines show signs of the weather, the quality generally speaking is quite good. The pool recently sold to millers at 5s 9d, 6s and 6s 3d, but some buyers are now offering less money Fowl wheat is now quoted at 6s f.o.b. for prompt; 5s 9d for April June; Id more for April to September, and another Id for April to December. T J le P at mar k e t is firm and there are ready buyers, but comparatively few ' S ? n ? rS - A grade Gartons are quoted at 3 s 6d to 3s 9d; B grade. 3s 3d to J s Algerians, 3s 3d to 4s; Duns, 4s 6d to ss, on trucks, sacks extra in each case. The forward position in regard to oats remains about the same as it was, namely, 4s to 4s Id for A grade Gartons, f.0.b., s.i„ April-Sep-tember, B grade Gartons on the same basis os 8d to 3s 9d. In sympathy with oats, the chaff market is very firm. Chalf is saleable at £6 15s, f.0.b., s.L, for April-May-dehvery. One or two samples of malting barley have been offered at as on trucks, but there appears to be no prospect of business. Malting is worth 4s to 4s 6d a bushel. There are plentiful supplies of onions but the inquiry) is limited. Today's values range from £3 10s to £3 15s a ton on trucks. ° f J erin ®f r of perennial Italian and Western Wolths have eased considerably. Quotations now are 5s to 5s 3d for perennia!, 4s 3d to 4s 6d for Italian and Western Wolths on trucks, sacks extra. Akaroa cocksfoot is worth 84d to 9£d a lb, the latter for seed of exceptional quality. Plains cocksfoot is ot very good quality this year, and is worth 7d to B|d for farmers’ dressed lines. A few lines of white clover have been on offer lately. Values range from 8d to lod a lb.
