NORTH SHORE TRANSPORT

LICENSING BOARD MEETS At the first meeting ©f the nenlvconstituted No. 2 Motor Omnibus Licensing Board yesterday afternoon, in the Chamber of Commerce, Mr. J. W. Williamson, Mayor of Takapuna, was elected chairman. Mr. A. E. Wilson, town clerk at Devonport, who acted as secretary during the period the Devonport Borough Council was the licensing authority, is to continue with his duties. The No. 2 district includes ti-te boroughs of Devonport, Takapuna. Northcote and Birkenhead, and portion of the Waitemata County Council. The representatives on the board are Messrs. J. W. Williamson ar.d B. C. Hart (Takapuna), E. Aldridge and J. Hislop (Devonport), C. J. W. Taylor (Northcote), H. A. Campbell (Birkenhead) and G.- OVHalloran (Waitemata County). The board will meet in future at 4.30 p.m. in the Chamber of Commerce. Tlie headquarters will be the Devonport Borough Council office*. It was decided that licences be issued to bus drivers by the secretary, being subject to confirmation at the next meeting of the board. Transfers of driving licences were granted C. G. Martin and P. H. W. Harding. The transfer of the service to Brown’s Bay carried on by Messrs Loyell and Sillch to the North Shore transport Company, Ltd., was approved.
