AFTERNOON WEDDING

BRIDE WEARS BEIGE CHAPMAN—BUCKLY A wedding was celebrated at Knox Presbyterian Church, Morrinsville, on Saturday afternoon by the Rev. J. H. Starnes, when Miss Ruby Edith Buckley, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Buckley, of Kohimarama, was married to Mr. Arther Seymour Chapman, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. John Chapman, of Green Lane. The bridegroom is a popular member of the Morrinsville railway station staff. The bride wore a frock of beige georgette with hat of crinoline straw to tone and carried a bouquet of tiger lilies and mauve delphiniums and maidenhair fern. She was attended by Miss Ursula Stantup as bridesmaid, whose frock was of gr*en georgette, with a hat of green felt to tone, and a bouquet of dahlias in shades of bronze was carried. Mr. Leslie Dench was best man. The newly-married couple will make their future home in Morrinsville.

Most useful of cleansers is methylated spirit! It is nearly always at hand and has such varied uses. For instance, it will remove most stains from brown shoes. However, as it has a drying effect on the leather, it must not he used too often. Use a good cream to clean the shoes. *= * * The longer evening frocks have brought a vogue for shorter evening cloaks. The longest point in all the newest wraps is just above the knee, at the hack, and about ten inches higher than that in the front. These cloaks are held tight round the boriv, and very lovely they look, with the flowing drapery of the frock beneath continuing this pretty line.
