ST. JAMES
“GOLD DIGGERS OF BROADWAY” Picture patrons are still flocking to see “Gold Diggers of Broadway,” the Warner Brothers’ technicolour production now in its last days at the St. James Theatre. Some interesting sidelights on theatrical life are given in the picture, which deals with the adventures of a troupe of chorus girls. Special features are the wonderful stage effects, the brilliantly coloured ensembles, and the numerous attractive vocal and dance numbers. The film is interpreted by a strong cast, including Winnie Lightner, Nick Lucas, Helen Foster and Conway Tearle. There is a good supporting programme.
