Life-saving Competition Instructors in life-saving (land drill) wilt be at the Legion of Frontiersmen’s rooms, Society of Arts Hall, Kitchener Street, on Friday, February 28. at 7.30 p.m. Scouters and Scouts desiring training are requested to report to these gentlemen punctually at this hour and in uniform. The life-saving and surf clubs at Milford and Takapuna will be pleased to instruct any Scouts who report to the r.ien on duty on the beach on Saturday afternoons, uniforms to be w orn. * * * The Dominion book of rules and regulations has been recalled and the Imperial Policy Organisation and Rules will take effect immediately. A supply of books on the latter subject has been ordered by cable, and these should reach Headquarters within a few weeks. * * <s Assistant-Scoutmaster Tobias. of the Armadale Troop, New South Wales, who has been spending a holiday in New Zealand, is at present in Auckland. During his stay in the South he visited the troops at Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin. He will leave for Sydney by the Ulimaroa on Friday. # • * Scoutmaster Eric Leikis. of St. Aidan’s Troop, is going on a holiday tour and will visit troops at New Plymouth, Wanganui and other places, en route for Wellington. He will return via the East Coast, where he will call on the troops in the Hawke’s Bay district. His party of three is undertaking the tour in true Scout fashion, with full camp equipment and will spend night under canvas. Deerfoot reports for St. Aidan’s l roop: * Troop-leader Jack Nairn has been promoted to the position of Assistant Scoutmaster, the first in the troop to

leceive this distinction. He is still carrying out his duties as Cub instructor, and will be taking the place of Miss Bartrom, the Cubmistress, who is leaving shortly for England. The new Assistant Scoutmaster has done much to further the progress of the troop. “Scout meetings were resumed early in February, and the boys are now settling down to work in earnest ” Swift Arrow, of the All Saints’ Troop, writes: “The All Saints* Troop commenced work again on February 11 in the All Saints’ Hail. Church Street. Meetings are held every Tuesday at 7.15 p.m. The troop would be glad to welcome new members and can guarantee them a good time. Boys contemplating joining are invited to call at the All Saints’ Hall any Tuesday evening at 7.30.”
