EVENTS AT WESTERN SPRINGS Last evening at Western Springs two races were decided by the Manukau Club and one by the Auckland Club. In all events keen competition resulted. Especially was this the case In the amateur senior handicap, when L. Dwight gained his first banked track victory. Results were:—■ Amateur Junior Handicap (four laps) C. Benrt (40yds), 1: L. Oxton (20yds), 2; H. Gordon (50yds), 3. Nine started. Won by half a u heel, a leng th between second and third. Time. 2.40. Amateur Senior Handicap (seven laps) —L. Dwigrht (ISOyds), 1: C. Galbraith (200yds), 2: H. Gribble (320yds), 3. Eleven •started. Won by a length, the same distance separating second and third. Time, Professional Handicap (seven, laps) K Mathieson (50yds), 1: F. Taylor (140yds)' 2; W. Francis (SOyds). 3. Twelve started. VY on by a length, half a length separating second and third. Time, 4.42 3-5.
