MR. “ROWLEY” HILLS FUNERAL IMPRESSIVE CEREMONY A striking demonstration of the esteem in which the naval veteran, Mr. George ( Rowley”) Hill was held was given by the representative assemblage. including the Navy, the Army, the R..S.A. and the King’s Empire Veterans, which attended his funeral at O’Neill’s Point cemetery yesterday afternoon. Six of a party of 20 men under Petty-Officer Paton, from H.M.S. Philomel, acted as pall-bearers, the party preceding the hearse for some distance. The King’s Empire Veterans under Captain James Stichbury, were Sergt.-Major G. J. Hawkesby, ColourSergeant Piekrell, Captain J. A. Algie, V.D., W. B. Leyiand, R.N., Sergt. Lloyd and J. M. Morran, R.N. Captain B. Tinguey represented the Defence Department and the R.S.A. was represented by the secretary, Mr. E. H. Sharp. Mr. A. Harris, M.P., was also present. The services at the house and at the graveside were conducted by the Rev. A. J. Greenwood, of St. Alban's Anglican Church, and the Rev. G. T. Robson, Chaplain of the Royal Navy.
