ENGINE DERAILED

LITTLE DAMAGE TO TRACK ACCIDENT IN YARDS The engine of the 7.59 a.m. train from Papakura was derailed in the Auckland railway yards this morning. Little damage was done, though it took 2i hours to replace it on the line. The accident occurred shortly after 8 o’clock this morning. The Papakura train was being shunted back from the station after unloading its passengers, and when crossing the points opposite fhe signal-box the engine wheels spread on two tracks, though the carriages had been safely pushed across in front. The driving-wheels and the bogies taking two separate lines resulted in the engine being thrown off the line, causing slight damage to the rails and sleepers. The engine, which was of the A.B. type, weighed about 70 tons, and was not replaced until about 11 o’clock.
