There was a heavy yarding of cattle at the Papakura Loan and Mercantile Company’s sale yesterday, outside buyers being present for store steers. Beef sold at fully Westfield prices. Grown steers in forward condition brought from £ll 5s to £ll 14s; grown steers in fresh condition. £lO 15s to £3l ss; three-year-old fresh conditioned steers, £lO 4s to £ll. The advertised two-year-old black polled steers sold readily and brought from £7 15s to £8 10s, others, according to quality and condition, from £7 5s to £S; Shorthorn steers, from one to two years old, from £7 6s to £S is; heavy prime cows and heifers, £lO to £lO 10s: lighter prime cows and heifers, £9 to £10; unfinished young cows and heifers, £7 to £8 ss. There still continues to be a keen demand for fresh conditioned cows and heifers, which brought to £7. One or two c hoice pens of good Shorthorn weaner steer calves brought up to £5 7s; good Shorthorn weaner heifer calves, £4 4s to £4 10s: dairy cows and heifers, close to profit, from £ll to £l3: backward cows and heifers, according to quality, up to £3O; heavy fat bulls, from £9 to £10; lighter *orts, £7 to £8 15s; small and inferior bulls, £5 10s upward.
