GABRIELLA LEAVES MELBOURNE. —Advice has been received by the local office of the Union Company that the steamer Gabriella left Melbourne last Friday for Hobart and is to clear there on Wednesday for Bluff, Dunedin. Lyttelton, Wellington, New Plymouth and Auckland.

TAHITI AT SYDNEY.—The Royal Mail liner Tahiti arrived at Sydney from Wellington at five o’clock on Saturday morning. The vessel is scheduled to leave Sydney on Thursday and Wellington the following Tuesday on her return voyage to Rarotonga, Papeete and San Francisco.

COPTIC SAILING.—At 5 o’clock this afternoon A. S. Paterson and Company is dispatching the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company’s motor-ship Coptic from Auckland for Wellington, thence Timaru and Lyttelton, to fill up. She clears the Canterbury port finally on February 28 for London, via Panama.

ULIMAROA DUE TOMORROW.—Due at Auckland tomorrow from Sydney, the Huddart Parker’s inter-colonial passenger steamer Ulimaroa will berth at the Queen’s Wharf to land her passengers, mails and cargo. At 11 a.m. next Friday she leaves Auckland on her return trip to Sydney.

IMA RAM A DEPARTS.—After being delayed at Auckland over 27 hours through rain, the Union Company's intercolonial passenger steamer Marama was dispatched at 6 p.m. last Saturday for Sydney. She is due at the New South Wales port on Wednesday and leaves again next Friday for Wellington.

RANGITIKI LEAVES HOME.—Advice has been received by the local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company that the motor-ship Rangitiki, which leaded cargo in London and embarked passengers and mails at Southampton, left the latter port last Friday for Wellington and Auckland. She is due at Wellington on March 19 and at Auckland a week later.

OTAKI LEAVES SUVA.—Cable advice received by the local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company states that the A. and A. Line’s chartered steamer Otaki, en route from New York, left Suva on Saturday morning for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. She is due here on Wednesday afternoon and has been allotted a berth at the Prince’s Wharf.

PORT BRISBANE’S LOADING.—The C. and D. Line advises that the Port Brisbane, on completion of dischai-ge of her London cargo, will commence loading at New Plymouth on March 5 for London and Hamburg. The vessel will subsequently load at Napier, Wellington and Lyttelton and is to sail finally from the last-named port on March 22 for London and Hamburg, via Monte video. MAM I LI US TO SAlL.—Efforts are being made by L. D. Nathan and Company to dispatch the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company’s steamer Mamilius from Auckland tomorrow afternoon for Oamaru, where she commences her Homeward loading. She will subsequently load at Timaru, Lyttelton. Wellington. Napier and Wanganui, and is scheduled to sail finally from Wanganui on March 19 for London, via Panama.

PORT PIRIE delayed.—Wet weather has delayed the C. and D. Line’s steamer Pori. Pirie, and she now leaves Opua tomorrow for Auckland to continue her loading, under the agency of the Farmers’ Co-op. Auctioneering Company. She is to berth at the Central Wharf. From this port she proceeds to Gisborne, thence Wellington to fill up. and is scheduled to sail finally from Wellington toward the end of this month for London. via Panama.

CHILOIL WITH OlL.—Cabled news has been received by the Union Company that the chartered tanker Chiloil left San Pedro at 3 p.m. on Tuesday for Wellington. The vessel brings fuel oil for the Union Company and is due there on March S.

The Chiloil, formerly the Kehuku, is a tanker of 5,107 gross and 3,541 net tonnage, and was built in 1920 by the Bethlehem Shipbuilding Company, Ltd., at Wilmington, Del. She is 391 ft in length and 51 in breadth, and is owned by the Chile Steamship Co., Inc. WA ITEM AT A FROM LOS ANGELES. —With lumber, case oil and general cargo from Pacific Coast ports, the Union Company’s transpacific cargo steamer Waitemata arrived on Saturday afternoon from Los Angeles, and berthed at Prince’s Wharf. The cargo was loaded at Vancouver, Ocean Falls, San Francisco and Los Angeles. She left the latter port on January 21. and experienced a fair trip. After unloading 2,500 tons at this port she will be dispatched on Wednesday for Bluff and Australian ports to_ complete discharge. Captain F. L? G. MAKURA AT SAN FRANCISCO. —The Royal Mail liner Makura arrived at San Francisco on Friday. The vessel is to sail on her return voyage to Wellington and Sydney, via Papeete and Rarotonga, on Wednesday. She is due back at Wellington on March 10 and at Sydney on March 15.

PORT CAROLINE TO LOAD.—The C. and D. Line advises that the Fort Caroline is due at Auckland on March 20 from Australia to commence loading for London. She will subsequently load at Gisborne. Wanganui, Napier and Wellington and will sail finally from the latter port on April 6 for London, via the Panama Canal.

TAMAROA'S LOADING ITINERARY. —The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company advises that the liner Tamaroa arrived at Wellington on Saturday morning from Auckland to complete discharge of her London cargo. On completion of discharge the vessel will commence loading for London, and is to leave Wellington on Thursday for Waikokopu and Napier. She is due back at Wellington on February 27 to fill up, and will sail finally from that port at daybreak on March 12 for Southampton and London, via the Panama Canal.

BENVENUE AT PORT PIRIE.—The G. H. Scales Company advises that the Ben Line steamer Benvenue arrived at Port Pirie on Wednesday from Yokohama, averaging 14 knots on the voyage. The vessel will load part cargo of concentrates at Port Pirie. and proceeds thence to Wellington to commence loading wool for Dunkirk, London and Hull. From Wellington she will proceed to Napier and Wanganui to fill up. and is to sail finally from the last-named port on March 17.

JUNE’S COAL SHORTAGE.—Owing to a delay of two months at Nauru Island, the Norwegian vessel June (Captain Hanneng) arrived in port on Saturdav afternoon to replenish her bunkers, and unload a quantity of empty drums at King's Wharf. Boisterous weather and rough seas at Nauru had prevented loading at the mooring buoy, a second buov having broken adrift in the storm. This prolonged spell of bad conditions caused the shortage of coal, as none had been taken on since the June left Sydney, whence she ax-rived at Nauru on December o. On the run to Auckland, fige weather was experienced for the first five days, but near the New Zealand coast heavy beam weather was encountered.

The vessel will leave this evening for Lyttelton and Port Chalmers to unload her phosphate cargo. Henderson and Macfailane, Ltd., are the locg.l agents. NORTHUMBERLAND AT QUEENS. —The Federal Line steamer Northumberland arrived in Auckland on Saturday evening and is berthed at the - Queen’s Wharf. She is unloading a part of her large cargo of general merchandise from Newport, Glasgow and Liverpool, Great Britain, and will complete discharge at Wellington. Lyttelton and Port Chalmers.
