ANOTHER TWO WEEKS
PRESENT GAOL TERM EXTENDED
CONVICTED OF THEFT At present in gaol serving a term of one month, to which he was sentenced in January, Frank Edward Yates was convicted of theft and at the Police Court this morning another two weeks was added to his sentence. Yates, a commercial traveller, aged 21, was charged with failing to account for sums of Ids and 9s to Edward Henry Pointon on January IS and January 20. He pleaded guilty. Chief-Detective Hammond said Yates had been given some coats to sell by Pointon, who was a mercer in Newmarket. He had sold the coats and kept the money. “He was convicted in 1927 and again In January,” added the chief-detective. “He is serving a month at present.” Yates explained that he was going to pay the money to Pointon when he was arrested in January. Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., directed that the term of 14 days was to be served when the present term had expired.
