BULLET ENTERS MAN’S LEG

From Our Otrn Correspondent WHANGAREI, Today. While on a shooting expedition near Waipu yesterday Mr. Powell, of Portland, met with a painful accident as a result of the accidental discharge of his .44 Winchester rifle. He was standing on a log holding the rifle by the muzzle, when it slipped and fell, and discharged the bullet entering the inner side of his right leg. The bullet was removed and he is reported to be progressing satisfactorily.
