AIR PAGEANT IN SOUTH
GREAT CROWDS AT WIGRAM AIRDROME CHICHESTER’S ENGINE FAILS Press Association CHRISTCHURCH. Today. Thousands attended the Canterbury Aero Club’s pageant at the Wigram Airdrome today. The weather was dull, with a light drizzle. The Wigram Derby Heats were won. by Flight-Lieutenants Mill, McGregor and Bolt, who will contest the final with Miss Aroha Clifford. Mr. F. ~C. Chichester and Mr. Goodwin both left Wellington at noon for the pageant. Mr. Chichester had Mr. Phillip de Bathe Brandon as passenger and Mr. Goodwin flew solo. A later message says that a telegram was received saying that Mr. Chichester was forced to land at Blenheim as the result of bad weather conditions. He will not come on to Christchurch.
