ENHANCE THE CHARM OF PRETTY WRISTS
MAKE DAINTY' WRISTLETS A pair of decorative wristlets harmonising with your sleeveless frock will give a charming and original finish to your dance toilette. _
The materials required are: .Two
pieces of ribbon about li inches wide and long enough to fit round the wrists with allowance for turnings, and beads for embroidering. Turn down a hem about 1-inch wide at one end and hem neatly; then make two tiny buttonholed loops on the right side of the hemmed line, as shown in the sketch. Now hem the other end, and on the wrong side stitch two tiny hooks to correspond with the loops. The heads of the hooks should be just on the edge of the wristlet. Make the other in the same way. When fastened, the wristlets should fit quite tightly. Chalk your chosen design on the ribbon and stitch on the heads. The wristlet sketched was made in black velvet ribbon stitched with tiny £)ink beads, to match a black velvet frock trimmed with pink pearls. Another very effective one was made in gold ribbon trimmed with fuchsia-coloured beads, to match a gold-and-fuchsia dress. Endless charming variations can be thought out. If you like to carry- a small handkerchief and even put a wee powder- : puff inside it, make a chain of silk j in the same colour as the ribbon and stitch it across the right side of one wristlet just beyond the little loops. When the wristlet is fastened, this chain remains outside and you slip your handkerchief through it.
