FIGHT ENDS IN UPROAR
MORGAN’S BOUT WITH TROWERN Press Association GISBORNE, Friday. A professional boxing match between Ted Morgan, lOst OiPb. and Reg. Trowern, lOst 31b, had a most unsatisfactory ending. Just at the close of the ninth round Trowern claimed a foul, as the result of a collision with Morgan’s elbow. The Boxing Association’s doctors ordered Trowern out of the ring for examination. On returning later they informed the referee that Trowern was fit to fight. Trowern suibsequently reentered the ring, having been absent for three or four minutes. When the referee gave instructions to proceed Morgan claimed the decision on the ground that Trowern had not been struck a foul blow. The referee then declared Trowern the winner, amid uproar.
