TOFUA’S BERTH.—A berth at Queen’s Wharf has been allotted the Island passenger steamer Tofua, which is due here on Monday morning from Fiji, Tonga and Samoa. COPTIC POSTPONED. —The Coptic has been unable to complete her Auckland loading for London on account of the rain, and her departure for Wellington to continue filling up has been postponed to 5 p.m. on Monday. PORT DARWIN AT PANAMA.—Reported to have reached Panama last Wedensday, the Commonwealth and Dominion Line steamer Port Darwin is en route from New Zealand to London. She was dispatched from Lyttelton on January 22. MARAMA SAILS 5 P.M.—Continued wet weatee yesterday prevented the Union Steam Ship Company’s intercolonial passenger steamer Marama from completing her loading for Sydney, and the vessel was unable to sail at 10 p.m., to which hour she had been postponed from 3 p.m. The Marama is now to be dispatched for the Australian port at 5 o’clock this afternoon, taking passengers, mails and cargo. The vessel Is at Queen’s Wharf. WAITEMAT A DUE 2 P.M.—An expected arrival at 2 o’clock this afternoon, according to her wireless advice, was the Union Company’s cargo steamer Waitemata from Los Angeles and other Pacific Slope ports with a cargo of general merchandise. The vessel was allotted a berth at Prince’s Wharf, and after discharging the local portion of her cargo will be dispatched later for Wellington, Bluff and Australian ports to complete. NORTHUMBERLAND HOVE TO.—A wireless message received from the Federal steamer Northumberland, inward bound from Liverpool and other West Coast United Kingdom ports with a general merchandise cargo, states that she has had to heave-to off Cuvier Island on account of the foggy conditions prevailing outside. She will resume her voyage as soon as the visibility permits and on arrival her will berth at Queen’s Wharf. The New Zealand Shipping Company is her local agent. JUNE TO BUNKER.—The Norwegian steamer June sent radio advice that she expected to arrive in port from Nauru Island at 2 o’clock this afternoon. The vessel was alloted a berth at King’s Wharf, where she is to bunker and load a small quantity of general cargo for Lyttelton and Port Chalmers at which ports she is to discharge her Nauru phosphate cargo. After unloading is completed the vessel is to proceed to Westport for further bunkers and from the coal port comes to Auckland again to lead for Nauru and Ocean Islands. She sails for Lyttelton and Port Chalmers on Monday night. Henderson and Macfarlane, Limited, is the local agent.

ULIMAROA LEAVES SYDNEY.—The Huddart-Parker steamer Ulimaroa was dispatched from Sydney for Auckland at midday yesterday with 306 passengers, as well as mail and cargo. She is due on Tuesday morning. THE PORT WAIKATO.—The new motor-ship Port Waikato, en route from Leith to Auckland, reached Melbourne from Fremantle on Wednesday to unload a timber cargo from Norway. The date of the vessel’s expected arrival at Auckland is uncertain. SOMERSET TO LOAD.—The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the Federal Line steamer Somerset was to leave Fremantle for Wellington on Thursday to load in New Zealand for England. Her loading ports have not been announced. RANGITATA’S REPORT.—The New Zealand Shipping Company’s motor-liner Rangitata, which left Wellington for London last Saturday, has reported by wireless:—“Since leaving Wellington have experienced fresh to strong southerly winds and heavy southerly swell. All well.” PORT CAROLINE TO LOAD.—Heather, Roberton, Ltd., has received advice that the Commonwealth and Dominion Line steamer Port Caroline is due at Auckland from Australia on March 20 to commence loading in New Zealand for London. Her other loading ports are Gisborne, Waikokopu, Napier and Wellington. She is scheduled to clear Wellington for London on April 6. PAKEHA’S ITINERARY.—The Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Pakeha, which is due at Auckland from Antwerp on March 11, will unload her basic slag cargo at this port. Afterward the vessel will- load New Zealand produce for Rotterdam and London at New Plymouth, Wellington. Napier and Auckland in that order. She is scheduled to commence loading at Auckland on April 10 and to sail for Rotterdam five days later. A. S. Paterson and Company, Limited, is the local agent. WINTON LEAVES NEW YORK.— Under charter to the A. and A. Line, the Avenue Shipping Company’s steamer Winton Is reported to have cleared New York for Auckland, Wellington, New Plymouth, Port Alma, Townsville, Cairns, Noumea and Rabaul last Wednesday. She is due at Auckland about March 19. The New Zealand Shipping Company is the local agent. THE PORT BRISBANE.—Now discharging cargo from London at Southern ports, the Commonwealth and Dominion Line steamer Port Brisbane is scheduled to commence loading for her homeward voyage at New Plymouth on March 3, and afterward at Napier, Wellington and Lyttelton. She is to be dispatched from Lyttelton for London on March 22. THE CUMBERLAND.—Now discharging and loading at Timaru, the Federal Line steamer Cumberland will also load at Wanganui, New Plymouth, Auckland, Gisborne and Wellington for London and West Coast ports of Great Britain. The vessel is scheduled to reach Auckland on March 3, and to leave Wellington for London, Avonmouth, Liverpool and Glasgow on March 15. THE PORT PIRIE.—The Commonv/ealth and Dominion Line steamer Port Pirie was unable to load at Opua yesterday on account of the wet weather. She is now expected at Auckland on Tuesday and will berth at Central Wharf to continue loading for London to the agency of the Farmers’ Cooperative Auctioneering Company. The vessel’s other loading ports are Gisborne and Wellington. She is to leave Wellington for London on February 24. SYDNEY MARU’S RECORD PASSAGE —The Osaka Shosen Kaisha Line has every reason to be pleased with the performance of its new motor-ship, Sydney Maru, which established a record for the passage between Brisbane and Kobe The vessel was dispatched from Brisbane on January 13 last, and arrived at Kobe on January 31, the voyage taking only 13 days. On the next rip South the Sydney Maru is to leave Yokohama on February 24, Nagoya a day later, Kobe on February 28 and Moji on March 1. PORT VICTOR’S ITINERARY.—Due at Wellington from London on February 27 the Commonwealth and Dominion Line steamer Port Victor will discharge her general merchandise cargo at Wellington, Lyttelton, Napier and New Plymouth. After completion of discharge the vessel will load for London and West Coast ports of Great Britain at New Plymouth, Wanganui, Opua, Auckland, Napier and Wellington. She is scheduled to load at Auckland on March 28 and to leave Wellington for London on April 11. Heather, Roberton, Limited is the local agent. N.Y.K. IMPROVED SERVICE.—The Wellington agents of the Nippon Yusen Kaisha (Japanese Mail Steamship Line), Burns, Philp and Co., Ltd., have received advice from their principals to the effect that the recently-advised changing of steamers on the Australian Line will be taking effect in the latter half of the present year. The present ships are being replaced by much larger and more up-to-date vessels, which will all be 8,000-ton steamers. The improved service will be inaugurated by the sailing Oi. the Kitano Maru from Yokohama for Australian ports on August 8, and this vessel will leave Sydney on the return trip to Japan on September 24. The other two ships will be the Atsuta Maru and the Kamo Maru. BARON JEDBURGH SOLD—The Hogarth Shipping Company’s cargo steamer Baron Jedburgh nas been sold to Greek H^ e - 3 f ? r a P 1 * 106 in the vicinity of £03,000 with delivery in the Tyne The Baron Jedburgh has been in the port of Auckland on two occasions, each time to the agency of R. Miller and Co., now incorporated with A. G. Frankham Ltd The vessel was last here a few months ago when she brought a cargo of raw sugar from Cuba for discharge at Chelsea. She has one deck and a shelter deck, and is 4,418 tons gross. 2,684 tons net, and carries 5,600 tons dead-weisrhr on a draft of 24ft. 3in. The vessel was built by Messrs. A. Rodger and Co., of Port Glasgow, in 1912, and engined by Messrs. D. Rowan and Co. Her engines are 26tn„ 44in and 74in„ by 4Sin. stfoke. She was sold through p. Wigham, Richardson and Co., of London.
