FIRE AT HENDERSON

HOUSE DESTROYED

A fire broke out in the bouse o£ Mr. Joseph Balich, wine merchant, of Sturgess Road, Henderson, about 3.15 p.m. yesterday. The house was totally destroyed, but members of the volunteer fire brigade, together with residents, formed a bucket-brigade and effectively stopped the fire from spreading to the adjoining buildings and wine-cellars.

Mr. Balich and family were away from home at the time of the outbreak. Nothing of value was saved. The house and contents were insured with the Eagle Star and British Dominions Insurance Co.. Ltd.
