CRYSTAL PALACE AND EMPRESS
Two most entertaining films comprise the splendid double—feature talkie programme now being shown at both the Crystal Palace Theatre, Mount Eden Road, and the Empress Theatre, Newton. The first picture is a thrilling crook drama in which a man called “Light Fingers” is the centre. and is one whom anyone could find themselves capable of having genuine admiration for. He ‘ was » a. . master mind, a superb leader; 'who worked along scientific lines. He could have been a success in any work he attempted if he felt so inclined. I-lis reformation in the film. and , his method of foiling a. large jewellery theft is typical of this brilliant character. The character of "Light Fingers," the delightful rogue, is interpreted by the romantic actor, lan Keith. Others in the_picture include Dorothy Revier, Carroll Nye, Ralph Theodore and Charles Gerrard. ' ~
The second big all-talkie is “Acquitted,.” a particularly thrilling courtroom drama starring Margaret Livingston. Lloyd Hughes and Sam Hardy.
