CENTRE RECORDS BROKEN
SWIMMING AT HAWERA Press Association HAWERA, Thursday. The advance being made in swimming in Taranaki was. demonstrated yesterday afternoon when eight of the centre records were broken at the annual championships. The new records were set in fresh water baths, though the times eclipsed were, with the exception of the junior boys’ 50yds made in salt water. The details of the new records are as follow: Junior Girls, 50yds.—Miss E. Kelstn, o8s; previous record, 40 l-ss. Junior Boys, 50yds.—J. Campbell, 35 1- previous record, 35 3-ss. Fresh-water Intermediate Girls’ 50yds. — N- Duckworth, 355; previous record, 37 intermediate Boys, 100yds.—I. Jobson, G 8 4-ss; previous record, 70 2-ss. Women’s 100yds.—Miss E>. Fowler, 80 2- previous record. 83s. Men’s 50yds.—H. St. George, 28 3-ss; previous record, 28 4-ss. Men’s 100yds.—H. St. George, 64 3-ss; previous record, 66 3-ss. Men’s 100yds Breaststroke.—W. Mundy, 84s; previous record, 84 3-ss.
