Poets ’ Corner
AFTER AN EVENING WITH ROBERT BROWNING’S VERSE (Written for TUB Silyj The man who wades through Robert Browning’s verse will find fairer than any Italian painting that he so sought to rival; frames where stirs a languid haze over a hillside fainting with scent of lavenders. Howso dull his toccatas, however dreary his drawn-out verbal fugues, here are not wanting pleasant chorales, sweet strains of Love, and cheery songs, with compassion tender enchanting a woman’s heart how weary. —GEOFFREY DE MONTALK.
