ROWNTREE INCIDENT
The Management Committee of the Auckland Cricket Association held a special meeting in committee last evening to inquire into the reason why R. W. Rowntree did not play for Auckland in the recent Auckland—M.C.C. game. This morning the secretary of the association, Mr. N. H. E. Hockin, issued the following state* merit to the Press: “The committee resolved to accept Rowntree's explanation.”
