ELECTION POSSIBLE
LABOUR PARTY PREPARES
CAUCUS AND CONFERENCE From Our Resident Reporter WELLINGTON, Today. It appears probable that the Labour Party is organising its activities with the object of being prepared for a General Election within a short time. At the last annual conference of the party general instructions were issued to Labour Representation Committees throughout the country to choose Parliamentary candidates as soon as possible and this order is being carried out almost everywhere. Nominations are being invited by the Wellington Representation Committee of candidates for the five city seats with which it is concerned. East, North, South, Central and Suburbs, and the North Canterbury committee is doing the same with the constituencies of Christchurch North, Christchurch East, Avon, Lyttelton, Kaiapoi and Riccarton. In the meantime, arrangements have been made for the holding in Wellington next week of a caucus of the Parliamentary Labour Party. It is expected that the meeting will be attended by members of the resident executive of the party. Unemployment, the general political situation, organisation and definition of the line of action to be followed by the party during the next session, of Parliament are among the subjects for consideration. The annual conference of the Labour Party will be held in Wellington on April 21.
