MOTORIST ROUSES INMATES

ESCAPE IN NIGHT ATTIRE Press Association NELSON, Today. The Turf Hotel at Stoke, a wooden building', was totally destroyed by fire at one o’clock this morning. The inmates escaped in their night attire. A passing motorist found the building well alight and roused the inmates. The hotel was owned by Frank O’Connor, of Napier, and was leased by J. Corbett. The insurance on the building was £1,500, on the stock £2OO and on the furniture £550 in the Mercantile and General Insurance Company.
