Monsieur Armand Nihotte, Consul for Belgium in New Zealand, will leave Wellington shortly on an extended holiday to Belgium. During his absence the consulate will be in charge of Mr. D. J. McGowan, of Wellington.
Mr. J. A. C. Allum, chairman of the Auckland Transport Board, accompanied by Mrs. Allum, left for Vancouver by the Niagara yesterday en routs to Halifax, where his eldest son, Mr. J C. Allum, is in hospital seriously ill.
Mr. A. G. Colvin, of Westport, son of the late Mr. James Colvin, for 20 years member of Parliament for Buller, arrived by the Limited this morning on a visit to relatives in Auckland.
