HELPING THE ORPHANS

MONEY FROM OLD STAMPS

Substantial benefit has been received bv tlio Manurewa Children’s Home as a result of the disposal of stamps collected in a campaign organised by Mr. E. C. Wiltshire, of the Buy of Plenty. For the past 15 years Air. Wiltshire lias been engaged in this unostentatious work, and in tiie first complete year the sum of £ls 10s was remitted to the treasurer of the home. The highest annual return was £43 10s. but it is hoped to better these figures this year. The sum of £417 has been realised front sales of stamps to the present. A total of £I,OOO is aimed at and an appeal is made to business firms and the public to retain the stamps front their correspondence and parcels and send them to the home. Odd lots, higher values or discarded collections would bo appreciated, but all types of stamps are welcomed as they are marketed to the best advantage.
