HOLIDAY INCOME WAS SATISFACTORY

GOOD INCREASE SHOWN Press Association WELLINGTON, Today. The Minister of Railways, the Hon. W. B. Taverner, expresses himself satisfied with the results of the railway traffic over the holiday period. From December 13 to January 11 13,348 more passengers were carried and tho revenue increased by £9,287. A circumstance favourable to the results was the fact that a change was made in the length of time during which excursion tickets could be obtained of from three to four weeks. The total bookings for the Christmas and New Year holiday excursion period were 617,631 and -evenue £241,947.
