The Morrinsville Dairy Company’s figures for January are as follow: those for January, 1929, being given in parentheses: Butter manufactured, 193 tons (154 tons); total production for the season to date, 1,073 tons (886 tons), an increase of 21.5 per cent.

The gate receipts from the Morrinsville Swimming Club’s carnival last week amounted to £3B Bs, or nearly £lO more than the previous record takings, £2B 11s, at the carnival held during the 1926-27 season. The amount will be swelled by entry fees amounting to £5.

Fishing from a launch off the eastern shores of Lake Taupo during the week-end, a party of Morrinsville anglers, Messrs. A. and T. Bremner H. G. and T. E. Oates and W. Watson, secured 18 trout, the largest weighing 6|lb. Mr. Watson, with seven fish, was the most successful.
