Parachutist to Drop from Airplane

DARING THAMES MAN DESCENT AT HASTINGS From Our Own Correspondent THAMES, Today. Mr. Noah Jonassen. at one time a professional parachutist, hut now proprietor of a motor garage at Thames, lias received permission from the Defence Department to make parachute descents from military airplanes. The first descent will take place at Hastings In about ten days’ time. Mr. Jonassen has been engaged by Captain White, of Hastings, to make four descents. He has made many parachute descents in New Zealand, and at Gisborne, owing to a mishap, he broke a leg when making a descent.
