SPEEDOMETER AS BENZINE GAUGE.—Owns rs of cars which have no benzine gauge on the dash can use their speedometers as such with little trouble. Assuming that the car gives 18 miles to the gallon, if the speedometer is set at 20 miles and ten gallons of petrol are placed in the tank, the speedometer will approximate zero on its second circuit, about the time the tank is empty. A margin of safety can be left and the driver can always tell by glancing at the tripodometer attachment just how he stands.
