ENGINEERING IN SCHOOLS
TRAINING MOTOR DRIVERS MECHANICAL KNOWLEDGE NEEDED A novel suggestion to the Waite mat a Chamber of Commerce last evening by Mr. W. D. Meiklejohn, was that the primary schools should add a course in motor engineering for the boys in the higher standards. He said that drivers of commercial motor vehicles in particular frequently were quite ignorant of the mechanical side of their job. Mr. S. E. Kennings said that while the schools could train children in traffic laws, it was beyond a primary school’s function to train motor drivers,
