DANCING COMPETITIONS
HIGH STANDARD SET Dancing competitions under the ,auspices of the National Highland Dancing Society commenced at Luna Park last evening before a large number of interested spectators. The dancing was of a high standard and although a larger crowd of competitors than was expected for the opening night attended the events were carried out without waste of time. The St. Andrew’s Pipe Band was in attendance throughout the evening. The competitions will be continued this evening, when fancy dancing will be held and other competitions will be held each evening this week and on Saturday afternoon, concluding next Monday evening. Results are as follow: Irish Jig (under 9).—Joyce Cain, 1; Joan Tucker, 2; Betty Brown, 3. Sein Triubhais (9-11). —Olive Evans, 1; Patricia Boyle, 2; D. Jensen, 3.
