Mine Managers’ Reports Mine managers report as follow : ■ Lucky Shot. —The ore coming from , the stopes above the intermediate level • continues to show gold clearly when broken down. We secured 51b of stone from the hanging-wall portion of the reef. Alburnia.—The rise on the main Orlando lode from the stope has been risen five feet, a total of 15 feet. The drive south on the hanging-wall branch of the Orlando lode from the bottom of the winze has been driven four feet, a total of 14 feet. The 12inch leader in the hanging-wall is still carrying along, and when broken down showed strong dabs of gold. The rise on the cross-leader from the drive north on the hanging-wall branch of the Orlando lode has been risen four feet, a total of 15 feet from the drive off the rise, or a total of 102 feet from I the main level. The reef here averages 12 inches wide. Tui.—Work on the Xo. 3 reef was resumed on Thursday, and the drive was advanced three feet to a total from the crosscut of 72 feet. The reef is a strong body of ore, and is carrying some nice bright iron pyrites, with a little zinc blend. The country .rock is very hard, and. with a change of country, values should improve. Moanataiarl. —During the week the shaft was sunk a further live feet to a total of 78 feet. The reef formation is about three feet wide, and more compact. A few colours of gold were seen. The quartz is now over on the south end of the shaft, and there is country’ rock and stringers in 1 the northern end. The ribs of quartz that were bored through in the borehold have not yet come into the shaft. We bored into a leader two or three inches wide, running at right angles to the shaft, but this round is not yet mucked out. The country rock is interlaced with black mineral seams.
