ILL HEALTH DUE TO STREET NOISE INQUIRY BY EXPERTS RcccL 10.20 a.in. CHICAGO, Mon. The Health Department is surveying the city’s din and roar. It is using two human observers and amazingly delicate instruments in a laboratory. In an experiment with animals. Dr. Hollinger, an ear specialist, found a detrimental influence of loud noises on the general health so great that the animals simply perished. Noises are responsible in a great degre for the fatigue of city -workers, and for many cases of high blood pressure and nervous exhaustion.
