CHICAGO'S VIGILANCE COMMITTEE
FIERCE CRIME CRUSADE Reed. 9.5 a.m. CHICAGO, Sunday. The Chicago Commerce Association yesterday discussed the occurrence of murders and bomb outrages in the city. It demanded that the wave of crime should be stemmed. A resolution carried said that the recent failure of the law enforcement bodies to check persons of known criminal tendencies could no longer be countenanced. The association announced that a group of citizens composed of “men of known courage and action” will be appointed to prepare a definite plan of action.
