INCITING REVOLT

AMANUILAH’S BROTHER COVETS THRONE

ARRESTS IN KABUL United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright Reed. 9.5 a.m. DELHI, Sunday. Prince Amin Jan, ex-King Amanuliah’s brother, and Sardar Abdul Hakim Khan, former Afghan trade agent in Peshawar, were dramatically arrested in Peshawar by the Government of India on the eve of crossing the frontier to raise the Shinwari tribesmen against the present King Nadir Khan, in favour of Amanullah’s brother. The time chosen for the revolt was most opportune as Kabul at present is experiencing the worst winter for 30 years. Yesterday’s temperature was 20 degrees below zero and heavy snowfalls have rendered impossible the movement of troops to Jalalabad, the stronghold of the Shinwaris.
