“THE RIPPER” RETURNS

RENEWED ALARM AT DUSSELDORF

MAN LEADS OFF GIRL BERLIN, Saturday. Renewed alarm prevails at Dusseldorf owing to the reported reappearance of the murderer known as “The Ripper.” A woman who lives near where the recent crimes were committed was shopping. She allowed her daughter, aged four years, to walk in the street ahead of her, and when the mother reached the street she saw the child arm in arm with a man. They were walking in the direction of some waste ground, which was the scene of the last murders. The mother called out, and the man ran away and succeeded in mounting a passing tram. The mother’s description of the man tallies with the police description of the “Ripper.”
