BETTY FINDS BUYER
BOAT LEAVES LYTTELTON
Special to THE SUN WELLINGTON, Today. "We are going to see if we cannot win the Sanders Cup for Wellington, said Mr. W. H. a wellknown Wellington yachting figure, in announcing that he lias bought the Jellicoe-class boat Betty, three times winner of the Sanders Cup for Canterbury. Betty, which was owned and built by George Andrews, the prominent Canterbury yachtsman, raced on Auckland Harbour on Anniversary Bay, winning both the Lipton and Ross Cups. The boat is the fastest of its class in the country and is very finely built. Betty was to have contested the Sanders Cup in the recent racing, but was withdrawn on account of domestic discord in Canterbury. Betty’s new owner is a prominent member of the Evan’s Bay Club. He is starter, timekeeper and judge for that club. It had been known for some time that Mr. Andrews wanted to sell Betty
