WHALER MAY SEEK EXPLORER EIGHT DAYS WITHOUT NEWS NEW YORK, Thursday. A copyright wireless message from the steamer Melville says:—Reports from Deception Island state that continuous attempts to communicate with Sir Hubert Wilkins failed. There 1e a proposal to send a whaler to search for the William Scoresby. The Melville is unable to proceed, except in a dire emergency, because the safety of 160 men on the whaling stations depends upon her The last message from the William Scoresby came eight days ago.
