349 PEOPLE EAT 12,000

Twelve thousand oysters were eaten at the annual Colchester oyster feast.

One man present did not eat a single oyster. He munched sandwiches while he watched 349 other people enjoying themselves. A hundred and sixty loaves had to be cut up to provide the brown bread accompaniment.
