IDLE COAL MINES

HUNTLY HAS LEAN TIME From Our Own Correspondent HUNTLY, Today. The Waikato coalmines are still having a lean time and for the week ending today, Pukemiro Collieries worked three and a-half shifts and the Taupiri Coal Company and Renown Collieries two and a-half shifts each. The Minister of Public Works will pay Raglan County a visit next week, and a representative deputation will meet him to discuss methods of alleviating the position. The formation of the Huntly deviation road to Waingaro, betw*een Rotowaro and Pukemiro Junction, will also be brought under the Minister’s notice.
