WOMAN’S HAND CRUSHED
CAUGHT IN WINDOW SASH
From Our Own Correspondent TE AROHA, Thursday. When a window sash-cord broke Mrs. C. L. Taylor, of Gordon Road, Te Aroha, had one hand caught by the falling window. She was unable to release herself and she remained there for three and a-half hours, fainting several times owing to the severe pain.
Her young children did not realise the trouble, but finally she was released by some casual visitors. It was found necessary to smash the woodwork with an axe before Mrs. Taylor could be released. One fingc- -was so badly crushed that it hung by the skin, and three others were also badly injured.
