SPLENDID CAST
After the opening performance in Wellington of “Lombardi, Ltd.,” which is to be staged at I-lis Majesty’s Theatre on Wednesday next and seven following nights, the whole of the Opera House was booked out the following morning for the remainder of the season there. Unfortunately it will foe impossible for the J. C. Williamson, Limited, management to thp tour of Mr. Leo Carrillo, as this distinguished actor is due to make his first appearance in Melbourne on Saturday, March 1, so he and his company, which numbers 40 artists, will have to leave here for Australia on February 21. Mr. Carrillo’s company includes Miss Margaret Cullen-Landis and Miss Barbara Luddy, two leading New York artists, who were in the original production there of “Lombardi, Ltd.” Others in the organisation are Miss Natalie Moya, wno previously appeared here in the leading part in “Young Woodley,” Miss Rowena Ronald, who supported the late Dion Boucicault and Irene Vanbrugh when they last toured New Zealand, Mr. Brandon Peters, who -was in the cast of “Patsy,” Miss Daphne Baird, who distinguished herself in “The Trial of Mary Dugan” with the Leon Gordon Company, Leslie Victor, Elma Gibbs, Beatrice Kendrick, Cecil Mannering, J. Vincent White, George Kensington and Miss Marjorie Statham, daughter of Sir Charles Statham. A big feature of the production is the mannequin parade in which a number of beautiful girls will be seen in some magnificent dress creations.
