FARMWORKER’S THEFT

THREE YEARS DETENTION

From Our Own Correspondent.

HAMILTON, Today

Three years’ reformative detention was the sentence imposed on George Ivan Jenkin, 19, in the Magistrate’s Court today for the theft of a £5 note from John Davison, a fellow farmworker, at Eureka.

Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M., said the accused was sexually affected, and he considered the sentence would meet the case better than Borstal.
