BREACH OF FAITH

CHINA CANCELS AIRWAY AGREEMENT

DISPUTE WITH AMERICA SHANGHAI, Tuesday. A breach of commercial faith by the Nationalist Government of China is indicated in its announcement of the cancellation of a Sino-American airways agreement, which recently was sanctioned by the Minister of Communications, Sunfo. A service has been operated by Americans for several months. It was established at heavy cost. Now the agreement is declared terminated “owing to its infringement of China’s sovereign rights.” The Nanking Government has decided to conduct its own air services. The announcement has occasioned alarm in regard to the future validity of other commercial agreements involving millions of pounds.
