MEXICAN LEADER WOUNDED IN JAW
WIFE AND NIECE HURT United P.A..—By Telegraph—Copyright Reed. 1.10 p.m. MEXICO CITY, Wed. Pascual Ortiz Rubio was wounded in the jaw by a would-be assassin who fired on him a few hours after he had been sworn in on Wednesday as President of Mexico.
The bullet was extracted and Rubio’s condition is not serious. Six shots were fired. The President’s vrife was grazed by one of them, her little niece Opelia Ortega was slightly wounded, and a bystander was hit. Their assailant was arrested..
