p r . H. Lumsden, of Queen Mary Hospital, Hanmer Springs, is at the dtar Hotel. Canon II R. B. Gillespie, of New Plymouth, has been instituted vicar cf Morrinsville. Messrs. Worthington and Barrett, members of the English cricket team, are at the Grand Hotel, Rotorua. Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Tattle, formerly of. Christchurch and now of Norfolk Island, are staying at the Star Hotel. The Rev. S. A. Goldstein left for Wellington by train last evening to officiate at the funeral of the late Rev C. Pitkowsky, who died yesterday. The Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, Leader of the Opposition, arrived from Wellington by the Limited express today. He will leave for Dargaville tomorrow. Mr. A. R. Merringrton, M.A., headmaster of the T© Aroha District High School, has been appointed an inspector for the Wanganui district, and will take up his new duties shortly. The Minister of Health, the Hon. A. J. Stallworthy, will arrive from Wellington tomorrow morning. In the afternoon he will address a meeting of the British Empire Cancer Campaign Society. Mr. W. J. Holdsworth. who left for Christchurch last evening to attend a meeting of the executive of the hoy Scouts’ Association, will proceed to Wellington to attend a meeting of the Local Government Loans Board on Friday. He will return to Auckland on Saturday. Mr. S. Gibbins. a principal of the firm of Messrs. Browne, Jackson and Company, cotton manufacturers, Manchester, who is in Auckland in the course of a business tour of New Zealand, is staying at the Grand Hotel. He is accompanied by Mr. R. M.
