REGISTER KEYS TAKEN BY MISTAKE . BREAK AT TAKAPUNA , Some time during: Monday night the premises of Messrs. Melvern, general storekeepers, of Strand Chambers, •Takapuna, were apparently entered by burglars. Upon opening the premises yesterday morning Mr. TI. Olendon, an employee, noticed that a back window was open, but everything appeared to oe in order, so no further notice was taken of the window. At closing time last evening it was niacovered that the keys of the cash “Agister were missing from their acs* omed place, and a further examh* the window that xjaa been found open disclosed, marks r P nsin ? from the outside, rne intruder had apparently misaicen the register keys for those of safe, as no money appeared to Wk ® ls *** n S from either of these. . . e *f ier any stock was removed will x J* 9 apparent until such time as scrutiny of the shelves is ‘arried out. least two prior occasions , g the past year or two burglars P a *d attention to Melvern’s P»emise».
